BBC Radio 4’s ‘On Your Farm’ - Planting hope in the uplands
It was wonderful to welcome Rose from BBC Radio 4’s ‘On Your Farm’ to record at Kingsdale Head in May. We were lucky to have a beautiful day so the recording could be outside for much of the time and it was so interesting to get an insight into how a radio programme is produced. Our Conservation and Farm Manager, Jamie McEwan, talked about peat restoration with Rose and Beth Thomas from Yorkshire Peat Partnership, Tim and I talked about why we bought an upland farm and what we hoped to achieve and Pete Leeson from the Woodland Trust joined us to talk about trees and how best to get more into our upland landscape.
Rose managed to capture a wonderful overview of our work, which was broadcast on Sunday 20th July, and you can find the episode, ‘Planting Hope in the Uplands’, on BBC Sounds.
